Daimler & BYD push out a new Denza SUV

Chinese carmaker Denza has posted a few images of its upcoming N8 SUV, probably meant as a premium alternative to the recently announced N7 model (see video). Per AutoHome, the N8 will come with two powertrain options to choose from, as well as 5 to 7 seats.
The local media assume that the SUV will represent a fresh take on the Denza X, a facelift for which was announced last summer. The exterior corresponds to the marque’s current design direction also implemented in the N7, but the N8 appears larger with slightly different body outlines and different c-pillars. Both models sport similar Y-shaped inserts in the front bumper and have an LED strip at the back.
The company will be offering a battery-electric N8 and a hybrid, both with a solid front panel instead of a grille. CarNewsChina believes that the N7 will remain a technical twin of the BYD Tang. This means it will continue using electric motors capable of 228–517 PS (225–510 hp; 168–380 kW) and hybrid systems rated between 218 and 489 PS (215–482 hp; 160–360 kW).
