V6-powered Tank 300 gets crowdfunded to 100% in 6 seconds

Chinese off-roader manufacturer Tank has announced a new flagship spec of its SUV called the 300. Unlike the previous versions with 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines, the new one will utilize a stronger V6. Per AutoHome, the company launched a crowdfunding campaign to make this version a reality, and the fans put in the required amount in six seconds.
The automaker let it slip in mid-March that there was a technical possibility to adapt the V6 used in its upmarket SUVs for the Tank 300. It said that it would require 1,000 pre-orders with an advance payment of 20,000 Yuan each to launch the production. The fans were lightning-quick, so it is only a matter of time before the top spec reaches the market.
While the power and torque were never mentioned, we know that the Tank 500 utilizes a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with 360 PS (355 hp / 265 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque.
The users who funded the initiative will be the first to get their SUVs when they start shipping, along with some nice extra bonuses. Some will even be allowed to participate in the design.
The sales are now scheduled to begin in Q2 2024. The starting price is estimated at 350,000 Yuan.
