Smart posts live photos of #3, its largest vehicle to date

Since the reboot of automaker Smart as a standalone brand, the Smart #3 is officially its largest car. It is styled as an all-electric coupe-SUV and is slated to debut live at the Shanghai Auto Show in two weeks. In the meantime, here are some official images.
The EV is shown cladded in most photos, but the last pic in the gallery below shows it without any wrap. Rumor has it that the SUV will be 170 mm (6.6 in) longer than the Smart #1.
The manufacturer presents the #3 model as a “sportier and more dynamic” take on the #1 following the same design aesthetic. Aside from being larger, the newcomer has sharply inclined pillars and lots of aero optimizations that enable it to have a drag ratio as low as 0.27.
It is still unknown what powertrains will be offered. Most observers expect the #3 to offer the same options as the #1, specifically 272 and 428 PS (268 and 422 hp; 200 and 315 kW). On the upside, the #3 should get more recent battery tech and thus more driving range as well.
The company is already preparing its EV for launch on all major markets. It is slated to reach the showrooms in China in June this year, while Europe will most likely have to wait until the next year due to the ongoing certification procedures.
