Owner of the destroyed 1,000,000-mile Toyota Highlander gets a new one for free

The U.S. branch of Toyota has presented Mark Miller with a brand-new Highlander Hybrid after the Floridan man’s trusty 2006 Highlander got destroyed by Hurricane Ian last fall with more than a million miles of use on it.
As a road repair specialist, Miller needed a spacious and comfortable car for his everyday work. He often used the Highlander to hold work meetings and haul trailers, among other things. Since it was his first personal car in life, he took great care of it and made sure to maintain it properly in one and the same dealership. Perhaps this is how the Toyota HQ learned of him and the enormous mileage on his SUV.
Miller felt like continuing to drive his Highlander even after the odometer maxed out, but a flood in September 2022 caused by Hurricane Ian ended its life prematurely. Mark bought a replacement car, but Toyota decided to step in and present him with a new Highlander Hybrid Bronze Edition, anyway – complete with bronze accents and a part-electric powertrain based on a 2.5-liter petrol engine.
