Koenigsegg Regera with $1M worth of options goes on sale

1 out of 80 Koenigsegg Regera hypercars ever made is on sale in the United States right now with a week remaining and the bidding already at $2.6 million. Aside from being widely regarded as a technological marvel, this particular Regera is a low-mileage example with more than a million USD in options installed.
The most expensive package installed here is called Ghost. In includes $285,000 worth of aerodynamic parts that improve the downforce by a further 20 percent. The $250,000 Environmental Power Upgrade raises the powertrain output to a neck-breaking 1,757 PS (1733 hp / 1,292 kW) once you pour in E85 instead of gasoline.
Other distinguishing traits of this particular car include a special paint job called Candy Liquid Blue with gold-tinted inserts and Tresex Aircore carbon wheels worth $57,000. The rest of the premium went into a custom cabin trim, most notably into pure gold coating for some surfaces.
The Regera saw its debut in the middle of the past decade. It utilized a five-liter V8 in conjunction with three electric motors. In its stock form, the drivetrain delivered 1,500 PS (1,479 hp / 1,103 kW) and 2,000 Nm (1,475 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels, sending the coupe 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in under three seconds. This example was made only two years ago and still has only 990 km (615 miles) on the odo. Its original owner paid U.S. $3,227,000 for it.
