The tuner team over at Novitec has taken the wraps off its latest creation, a bespoke McLaren Elva roadster with an improved engine, new wheels and lowered suspension.

In its factory guise, the Elva is by no means underpowered with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 sending 815 PS (804 hp / 600 kW) to the wheels along with 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. However, with a meticulous calibration of the injection, ignition and induction systems the output rises to 920 PS (907 hp / 677 kW) and 890 Nm (656 lb-ft) of torque. Note that the measurements were made with optional upgrades installed, such as gold plating for improved heat exchange and a high-end exhaust system.

Bolstered like this, the Elva sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.7 seconds. It reaches 200 km/h (124 mph) in another 4 seconds or so and can eventually reach 330 km/h (205 mph), which translates into ‘goodbye, styled hair’ in roadster speak. A windshield is listed under factory options for the Elva, but we cannot imagine it helping much at those accelerations.

Further goodies from Novitec for the model include staggered forged wheels (20” front, 21” rear) and a 20mm (0.8”) drop in suspension height.

The topless McLaren Elva debuted in the fall of 2019 initially limited to 399 units. McLaren has revised the production target twice since then, ultimately settling on just 149 units – the buyers apparently wanted a more exclusive vehicle for their $1,690,000 USD.
