BMW: The M3 CS will be a time-limited offer, not quantity-limited

When BMW unveiled the new M3 CS the other day, it said the availability would be limited, but never specified the planned production numbers. BMW M leader Franciscus van Meel has now revealed that the cap would be on the production time, not quantity: the sedan will be rolling off the assembly lines for only one year.
Van Meel also revealed some interesting details regarding the exterior palette choices. The Signal Green coat the show car wore to the reveal was a premium BMW Individual option and not a standard color. Another such option is Frozen Solid White. There are also two standard hues, Sapphire Black and Brooklyn Grey. All buyers can specify bronze or black wheel rims at no extra cost. They come in 19-inch size for the front axle and 20-inch for the rear.
The BMW M3 CS is the Bavarian marque’s fastest 3-Series on record, coming powered by a 550-PS (542-hp / 404-kW) inline-six mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all four wheels. The standard sprint time is 3.4 seconds. German buyers can get it starting from €146,000, a nearly €45,000 premium over the M3 Competition xDrive.
