Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate drops cover
The Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate is the swan song of the legend that is the DBS sedan. Limited to 499 production units (300 coupes and 199 Volante cabrios), the model is already sold out.
The 770 Ultimate is the most powerful of any production cars in the entire history of the British automaker. The DBS had its 5.2-liter V12 boosted to 770 PS (759 hp / 566 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque in this version, not least thanks to a 7% increase in induction pressure. A tuned eight-speed automatic transmission sends the momentum to the wheels through a limited-slip differential.
The adaptive shock absorbers also enjoy a mild tune-over, but the brakes stay stock. This is not necessarily bad, of course, because it means 410mm carbon-ceramic brakes at the front end and 360mm ones at the rear. New 21-inch wheels evoke associations with the Valkyrie and Victor models. The front end benefits from a 25% increase in rigidity, and the aero kit has been revised as well.
Interior highlights include a new trim dominated by natural leather and Alcantara, lots of special edition badges, some embroidery and a serial number plaque.
The production is set to start later in the first quarter of this year, but the first deliveries will not be made until Q3.
