Kia takes EV9 on a spin around the Nürburgring
Car spies first nabbed the Kia EV9 test vehicle in mid-June this year, and we have enough footage of it so far, but the latest bunch of shots shows the body SUV braving the treacherous corners of the North Loop.
Don’t be fooled by the appearances, though: the body obviously has a couple of fake panels installed. Compared to the original concept car (see video), the production-candidate EV9 has the same tall and slim taillights, but says no to suicide doors.
Some commenters have pointed out that the camouflage seems to conceal a Kia Telluride-like face: note especially the characteristic vertical headlights and traditional lower apron.
21-inch wheels come wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Bucket seats and a roll cage can be seen in the cabin, suggesting that the version tested was actually an EV9 GT spec.
