BMW M3 family welcomes its first estate member, the M3 Touring
It’s been nearly two years since the Bavarian automaker announced the coming of the M3 wagon, and here comes the production car at last.
The exterior design is identical to that of the M3 sedan except only for the rear end. The car rides on 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels and has black roof rails, roof and rear diffuser regardless of the body color.
The M3 Touring is obtainable exclusively in the Competition spec armed with a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine. This version produces up to 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and hits its peak torque of 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) as early as 2.750 RPM.
An eight-speed automatic transmission drives all four wheels, letting the wagon-shaped M3 reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and 200 km/h (124 mph) in 12.9. The top speed lies at 250 km/h (155 mph), but as usual, you can opt for a sports package that will raise it by another 30 km/h (18.5 mph).
The main interior highlight is the iDrive 8 infotainment system that combines a 12.3-inch digital dash screen and a 14.9-inch multimedia display under one pane of glass.
The assembly will take place at the same facility in Munich where the sedan is made. Prices will start from €97,800.
