Fifteen Eleven Design to revive Porsche 914

Fifteen Eleven Design, a coachbuilder company controlled by the rally team named Mellors Elliot Motorsport, has announced a modern reinterpretation of the original Porsche 914.
The rather successful Targa model came out in 1969 through 1976 (watch the video for an overview). The new car will feature a chassis reinforced with T45 aviation-grade steel along with modified Cayman suspension and heavy-duty Brembo brakes. It will get a widened carbon-fiber body with a new front bumper and hood cover. The headlights will be LED-based and fitted with Moby Dick-style DRLs.
The Targa will utilize the 3.4-liter flat-six engine of the Porsche Cayman S (987) for propulsion. This means 295 PS (291 hp / 217 kW) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) hitting six-speed manual transmission. Other highlights include a lightweight exhaust system, an electronic gas pedal and a tailgate-mounted rear spoiler.
Production should begin before the end of the year.
