Carlex Design gives a Ford Mustang GT a luxury cabin makeover
The Mustang range has always made do with lackluster interior trims – both in terms of the materials used and the design decisions. The model year 2020 improved things, but not too much. Today, let’s see what Poland-based auto interior shop Carlex Design calls a proper muscle car cabin.
The convertible maintains the same black-and-red color scheme across its body and cockpit, but while the bodywork has a distinct glossy shine, things are kept elegant inside with matte materials used throughout.
High-quality leather covers the seats, the front panel and the doors, while Alcantara wraps the steering wheel, the ceiling and the seat midsections. Numerous fine details, such as the 12-hour mark on the wheel or the perforation on the dashboard, round off an impressively stylish image.
As a result, the Polish take on the Mustang appears not only more expensive than most factory trims – and even Shelby customs, at that – but also sportier somehow. Here’s hoping Ford ups its game someday and starts giving us something at least comparable with this.
